When you are at that point in time when you are shopping for a new floor there are some factors that you should consider. For starters, make sure you choose a style that that best reflects your home style. If you have a modern or contemporary home then maybe tiles are a good choice but if you have a Victorian home then maybe you want to choose wood flooring or laminate domestic flooring. If you have a Southwest theme home then Terra Cotta would be the perfect stone for you to choose.

Keep in mind the scale of the room as you place your flooring. Fore example, if you have a big room then big tiles for example will make the room appear bigger. Large tiles make a small room seem too crowded. It you want to experiment, buy a few pieces of each tile and see how it looks before you spend some real money and don’t like what you see.

Choose your texture carefully, if you have contrasting tiles it you may be giving your room a whole new look. Some different textures could be glaze, smooth, raised, polished, honed or tumbled. One more important thing to remember when you are looking for flooring, no matter which kind you get, get all of the borders, medallions and inlays that come with wood, tile and stone floors. If you are going to re-do your floor you may as well do it right.
